About Summer Camps

Summer camps are programs in which children and teenagers participate in activities during the summer vacation period. While some are residential, many are day camps held from Monday to Friday. These camps offer a variety of activities such as outdoor adventures, sports, arts and crafts, educational programs, and adventure activities.

Camps provide participants with opportunities to learn new skills, form bonds with peers, and grow through outdoor experiences. Some summer camps are organized by schools or organizations, while others are offered by individuals or specialized camp programs. Programs can accommodate anywhere from a few participants to several dozen, and popular camps tend to fill up quickly.

Summer camp registration typically begins on February 1st, with non-residents often starting registration on February 8th.

Benefits of Summer Camps

Participating in a summer camp for a few weeks may not necessarily lead to significant improvement in English proficiency. Instead, it’s about providing impactful experiences for children, exposing them to global standards, and letting them experience the diversity of races and values worldwide.

For accompanying parents, while children are at summer camp, it’s an opportunity to enjoy free time. There are various attractions to explore, such as sightseeing in San Francisco, touring Silicon Valley companies, visiting Yosemite National Park, or exploring wineries. Since summer camps typically end by 4:00 PM, parents can spend late afternoons and weekends experiencing local activities with their children, such as shopping at supermarkets, visiting museums, or exploring places not covered by tour buses, providing a more immersive local experience.

Experiencing American life for one to several weeks as a family will be an unforgettable experience. It will be a memorable summer not only for the children but also for the accompanying parents.
