We need host families who will accept Japanese children (8–15 years old) from Japan who will be attending Stanford University’s summer camp in July and August.

2025 Host Family Schedule

You do not have to accommodate all schedules, so please choose a time that suits your schedule from the list below.
Any available weekend during the period from June 27 to August 17, 2025

Host family details:

7 nights 8 days $840 (per student)
Sunday PM Check-in – Sunday AM Check-out
Transportation to and from the summer camp (Stanford University Monday to Friday).
Drop off by 8:30 / Pick up 4:30

  • All students will be participating in the San Francisco tour throughout the entire day on Saturday. Dinner with host family.
  • You may accommodate two students in the same room. We will provide our air mattress (please provide sheets).
  • We kindly ask host families to accept a minimum of two students. Even if you have only one room, if you can fit an additional air mattress, two students can stay together.

2 nights 3 days $240 (per student)
Check-in: Friday 4:30 PM (Pick up student from Stanford University)
Check-out: Sunday AM (Drop off at SFO International Airport – additional compensation provided if you can help)

  • You may accommodate two students in the same room. We will provide our air mattress (please provide sheets).
  • We kindly ask host families to accept a minimum of two students, as above.

Optional support with additional compensation:

  • If you are available to drop off and pick up students at Palo Alto Station on Saturday (8:30 AM drop-off / 6:00 PM pick-up) for the San Francisco tour, we will provide additional payment.
  • If the students do not participate in the Saturday San Francisco tour and stay with the host family instead, we will provide additional lunch allowance.

Host family requirements:

  • Families with children up to the age of 18 (even if you do not have children, please contact us if you meet the following requirements).
  • A family that can treat students just like their own family.
  • Can provide a private room.
  • A family where English is the primary language spoken.
  • A home that is positive about cross-cultural exchange and actively involved with the child.

Host family responsibilities:

  • Meal preparation (breakfast, dinner).
  • Transportation to and from the camp.
  • Airport transportation if necessary.
